Happy First Day of Summer everyone! How are you celebrating the start of a new season? We're eating (of course) our favorite summer dip: toum! With our Toum we grilled some chicken on skewers. Quick, easy, and so yummy! Eva also whipped up a quick summer salad of cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onion. She even added a little toum to it before mixing for added flavor! It was delicious! Sometimes the simplest dinners are the yummiest! I see many more summer dinners like this in my future. ;)

Happy Saturday everyone! So this morning we had some Za'atar Manoush and Feta Cheese Manoush and I realized something. This is not only my favorite breakfast to eat, but also my favorite to photograph! I couldn't let this breakfast pass without snapping a few photos to share with you all! The weather was gorgeous this morning so we decided to eat outside. Of course, this yummy pair is even yummier with cucumber and tomato slices and some mint leaves. For as long as I can remember, we've always grown mint in our yard. It goes well with a lot of Lebanese dishes! My ABSOLUTE favorite to have with manoush is Labne! It makes a perfect dip, or if you love it as much as I do, it's a great paste to smear on top of your manoush! Yummy! :)

This is what I call Lebanese comfort food! Tonight we are having some Lebanese-Style Meat Loaf served over Riz Bil Sh'arieh. For me, this dish is more than just delicious, it's comforting too! The weather has been so rainy and dreary where we are, so I am so looking forward to eating this to brighten up my day!
Usually, we cook Riz Bil Sh'arieh with white rice, but this time we used brown basmati rice to mix things up. It was yummy, but we will definitely be sticking to white rice next time! ;) |
