On Eva's Lebanese Cooking we want to post more than just recipes, but also tips and info about when it's best and easiest to have certain Lebanese dishes. Before the summer comes to an end, I would like to feature some of our favorite Lebanese recipes to have during this season! Hope you enjoy the list :)
Certainly hummus is delicious all year round, but during the summer nothing is better than making some hummus and bringing it to a picnic or to the beach! It's quick and easy to prepare, and is super easy to put in some tupperware to travel with. I LOVE packing chopped up veggies with my hummus to snack on at the beach!
2. Toum (Garlic Paste)
Toum makes this list because it is mostly used as a dipping sauce for grilled foods. If we are grilling chicken, steak, or veggies, we ALWAYS make toum to have on the table. It's so delicious I can't imagine not eating it with my shish kabobs!
3. Cucumber and Greek Yogurt Salad
In our backyard we have mint leaves and cucumbers, so we love making this dish during the summer! On a hot day, I absolutely love the refreshing taste of this yogurt salad. This is also a great change for those who normally like to mix their yogurt with fruit!
Kefta makes this list because it is delicious on the grill! During the summer, we love grilling kefta to serve with some hummus for guests. It's easy to prepare and so delicious! Check out the recipe for grilled kefta in pita here!
Tabouli is such a refreshing salad, especially in the hot weather. When it's especially hot out, Eva likes to add a couple of ice cubes to prepared tabouli to make it even colder!
We love preparing a huge bowl of this flavorful salad for parties and cookouts! The diced up peppers, toasted pita and sumac make this salad a truly unique one!
